Filming in Czechia
Easy Travel
Czechia is directly accessible from many major cities in the world by air. The Václav Havel International airport in Prague provides quick flights to many other major European capitals. A number of world renowned cities are within daily driving distance too, like Berlin, Munich, Vienna, Bratislava, and Budapest.
As an EU member, Czechia is part of the Single European Travel Area, allowing for seamless travel between countries within the region.
Americans do not need a visa to visit the Czech Republic for stays less than ninety days.
That ease of accessibility and centralized location within Europe makes Czechia an ideal base for location filming in other areas of Europe or beyond.

More Production Value
The cost of filming in Prague is significantly lower than in locations such as Los Angeles, New York, Atlanta, Vancouver, Berlin, or London. For example, many costs are about 50% to 70% cheaper in Prague than in Los Angeles. Several factors contribute to this cost difference:
Labor Costs: Labor costs in the Czech Republic, including for skilled film crews, are generally lower compared to other markets. This extends to actors, extras, and technical personnel.
Production Costs: The overall cost of production, ranging from set construction to location fees, is lower in Prague. This is partly due to the lower cost of materials and services.
Facilities and Infrastructure: Prague has well equipped sound stages, LED volumes, backlots, and standing sets. Complexes like Prague Studios and Barrandov Studios, which is one of the largest in Europe, offer their state of the art facilities at highly competitive rates.
Government Incentives: The Czech government offers generous incentives for film productions, including a 20% rebate on Czech spending + 10% on international cast and crew.
